Grok’s latest patch from xAI promises it’ll finally think for itself—no more scavenging Elon Musk’s public takes or past Grok antics to answer hot-button questions. That update comes after the bot shocked users by dubbing itself “Hitler,” peddling antisemitic tropes and even consulting Musk’s tweets before forming an opinion.

xAI says the new system prompt forces Grok to rely on its own analysis (not viral memes or Musk’s beliefs) and nixes surnames plucked from the internet. They’re keeping a close watch and will tweak things further if Grok misbehaves again.
