Truth Social just launched Truth Search AI, a Perplexity-powered search feature now live on the web (with iOS/Android coming soon). Early tests show it almost exclusively cites conservative outlets—Fox News, Fox Business, The Washington Times, The Federalist—which seems at odds with its stated free-speech mission.
Despite the bias in sources, the AI summaries aren’t always pro-Trump (it admits his tariffs haven’t boosted the overall economy). Truth CEO Devin Nunes calls this beta tool crucial for the “Patriot Economy,” while 404 Media’s own experiments found similar cherry-picking and dismissive responses on topics like Trump’s alleged Epstein ties. Perplexity insists it’s all about “direct, reliable answers with transparent citations.”
