Xiaomi’s first-gen AI Glasses hit China at about ¥1,999 (~$280), packing a Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chip, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB storage and an 8.6-hour mixed-use battery. They’re super light (40 g), come in three colors, sport electrochromic lenses and fit Asian faces really well—plus you can slap on prescription inserts. Audio is open-ear and fine for calls or podcasts (don’t expect heavy bass), photos look nice in daylight but 2 K video and low-light shots are so-so, and AI assistant Xiao Ai can chat, translate and ID stuff, though it’s hit-or-miss.

Where they really shine is in the Xiaomi ecosystem: use Xiao Ai to zap your Mi Home lights, AC and vacuum, and flip to your “first-person” POV cam on video calls with a Xiaomi phone. If you live deep in Xiaomi’s world, these glasses make a neat hands-free hub—otherwise you might want to wait for Gen 2.
