Canada’s own Vegas Sphere: Vancouver’s Dome
A team of engineers resurrected a leaky 1960s planetarium and converted it into a jaw-dropping 10K, 360° projection arena. They married vintage server racks with mega-Christie projectors, custom cooling rigs and high-end Lenovo workstations stuffed with Quadro GPUs to build a local version of the Las Vegas Sphere.
Behind the scenes, they crawled inside the dome to hide chunky speakers, stress-tested gaming at giant scale and even capped it off with a trippy Pink Floyd visual jam. It’s a retro-meets-modern tech lovefest that proves immersive projection doesn’t have to stay in Sin City.
