Valve just dropped the Steam Frame, a fully wireless VR headset that streams over 5 GHz/6 GHz Wi-Fi with foveated rendering for super-sharp visuals and minimal latency. Linus dives into the headset’s optics, sound, brand-new controllers and the tiny ARM-powered FEX “streaming box” that makes it all work.
So far it delivers crisp graphics, solid audio and impressively quick tracking. If Valve can keep this level of performance up, other VR rigs are suddenly looking pretty dated—and the entire industry might feel the shockwave.
