TL;DR: Linus teamed up with William Osman to cobble together a hilariously “janky” yet surprisingly powerful portable NAS for OpenSauce. They slammed in giant NVMe SSDs and 18 TB hard drives on a mini-ITX server board, slapped on an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D and DDR5 RAM, and power-tested it all in a custom GaN PSU-powered case. Expect dropped drives, paint splatters, and plenty of “did that just happen?” moments.
Along the way they debated a second backup NAS, got distracted by paintball in William’s backyard, and survived the “most painful drop of 2025.” In the end, the rig made it to OpenSauce in one piece, ready to swallow terabytes of future shenanigans—proof that you don’t need fancy polish to make storage magic.
