Linus and one brain-cell farmer William Osman teamed up to build the wildest portable NAS ever for his Open Sauce event. Codenamed the “A.S.S.,” it packs monster storage—15.36 TB NVMe SSDs, an 18 TB hard drive, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, tons of DDR5 RAM, a PoE switch, SAS adapter and more—all crammed into a mini-ITX server chassis.
Between paint tips, painful drops, and a surprise second NAS, the duo put this janky rig through its paces before hauling it off to Open Sauce. It’s part tech showcase, part comedy of errors, and fully over-the-top—yet somehow totally functional.
