Linus and William teamed up to build an outrageously janky but ultra-portable NAS for William Osman’s OpenSauce setup, cramming multiple 15.36 TB NVMe SSDs, 18 TB HDDs, an ASRock Rack mini-ITX server board, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, GaN PSU, UniFi Pro XG switch, and more into a compact chassis. They even threw together a second backup NAS, survived a “most painful drop of 2025,” and put the whole rig through its paces on-site at OpenSauce.
Amid paint tips, merch giveaways, and plenty of hardware deep dives (Flare X5 DDR5 RAM, LSI SAS adapter, Sabrent and WD storage, etc.), the build is equal parts ridiculous and ingenious—perfect for anyone looking to stash terabytes of camera footage in style.
