In “I’m NOT Keeping the World’s Biggest TV,” Linus unboxes and benchmarks Hisense’s 116-inch 4K RGB-miniLED behemoth. The RGB miniLED backlight delivers eye-popping peak brightness and contrast, but at this massive size the drop from ~20,000 local dimming zones to just ~10,000 (or even ~3,600 in some areas) leads to noticeable blooming and uneven blacks.
After running through a battery of tests—contrast, gradient handling, highlight performance—Linus ultimately decides that size alone can’t compensate for the reduced zone count. Despite some dazzling highlights, the trade-offs in uniformity and dimming precision make the 116UX a no-go, so he’s sending it right back.
