Asus’s new Windows-based handheld finally brings a proper “Handheld mode” to your PC library, packs upgraded internals, and even throws in a little “Xbox” branding for good measure—though Microsoft magic is nowhere to be found. The X model ups the ante with sweeter specs, a snappier UI, and a cheeky adjustable screen angle, all for a price that, while still premium, doesn’t feel utterly bonkers next to rivals.

Under the hood you get top-tier components (dive deep in the teardown), solid benchmark results, and all the usual Windows quirks—plus surprisingly solid haptics. Battery life remains the Achilles’ heel, but if you’re a die-hard PC gamer craving portable power and don’t mind hunting for wall outlets, this might just be your new best friend.
