ROG Xbox Ally X – A PC Gamer’s Take
The new Asus ROG Xbox Ally X is essentially a Windows handheld with a sprinkle of Xbox branding from Microsoft. You get Windows Handheld mode at last, a nice software polish, improved controls and an X model that—while not cheap—competes well on price against other portable gaming PCs.
Under the hood, the Ally X sports a high-refresh display, robust internals and a teardown shows it’s service-friendly. Benchmarks hold up nicely against rivals, battery life is solid but workload-dependent, and overall it’s a tempting pick for PC gamers who don’t mind paying a bit extra.
