TL;DR Cloud gaming via Nvidia GeForce NOW has finally reached a point in 2025 where it’s almost indistinguishable from a local high-end rig, streaming AAA titles like Indiana Jones, Borderlands 4, and Apex Legends at high frame rates with minimal latency. In side-by-side tests against a beefy PC (Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5080, 4K/240Hz monitor), the cloud held its own surprisingly well.
That said, you’re swapping hardware ownership for a subscription and a rock-solid internet connection. If you’re cool with relying on someone else’s servers (and you’ve got the bandwidth), cloud gaming might finally be ready for primetime—but don’t expect the same DIY thrills you get from building your own rig.
