Cloud gaming has finally leveled up: Linus and the crew put Nvidia’s GeForce NOW through its paces in Indiana Jones, Borderlands 4 and Apex Legends, and it’s shockingly smooth—almost indistinguishable from a local rig. Using a top-end PC setup (Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5080, 64 GB DDR5, OLED 240 Hz monitor), they found that cloud performance held its own in frame-rate and responsiveness.
But before you toss your GPU in the recycling, there’s a catch: subscription fees, input latency and potential network hiccups still lurk in the shadows. GeForce NOW is “pretty good now,” they say, but ditching your hardware altogether? That’s a whole different story.
