Terrible News, Cloud Gaming is Good Now
Cloud gaming has finally leveled up—Nvidia’s GeForce NOW delivers surprisingly smooth performance on titles like Indiana Jones, Borderlands 4, and Apex Legends, even when you’re not plugging into your own rig. Linus and the team ran side-by-side comparisons on a high-end desktop setup (think Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5080, OLED 4K/240 Hz monitor) and were genuinely impressed by how well the streamed versions held up.
That said, “good” doesn’t mean perfect. You still need a rock-solid internet connection, and there’s the usual subscription fees and occasional latency quirks. In short, cloud gaming’s come of age—but it’s more “nice backup” than “full-time replacement” for most serious gamers.
