Terrible News, Cloud Gaming is Good Now
In this video, Linus and the team give Nvidia’s GeForce NOW a serious spin and find that cloud gaming in 2025 is shockingly smooth—so much so that titles like Indiana Jones, Borderlands 4, and Apex Legends stream with near-local performance. They pit the cloud service against a high-end rig (think Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5080, 4K/240 Hz OLED, or 1080p/480 Hz) to see if remote servers can really keep up.
Even though visuals and frame rates impress, the crew still wonders if ditching physical hardware is worth it. Latency quirks pop up, and the idea of “owning” your gaming box feels threatened—but killcams aside, cloud gaming might just be ready for prime time.
