Terrible News: Cloud Gaming Is Actually Good Now
By 2025, cloud gaming has come a long way—Linus puts Nvidia’s GeForce NOW through the paces with Indiana Jones, Borderlands 4 and Apex Legends, comparing cloud performance to local play on a high-end rig (Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5080, 64 GB DDR5). Surprisingly, GeForce NOW holds its own on visuals, input lag and overall playability across tests.
That said, “good” doesn’t mean it’s the new king of gaming—Linus still values owning your hardware for consistency and control. Cloud gaming’s debut as a legit contender is exciting, but it’s not about to make beloved gaming PCs obsolete.
