Linus’s team ran side-by-side tests on a beefy rig (Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5080, DDR5) and found the cloud experience shockingly smooth.

But before you ditch your gaming PC, remember: “good” cloud gaming isn’t an unalloyed win. It risks higher latency, dependency on networks, and undermines owning your own gear (mods, upgrades, offline play). So yeah, it’s pretty impressive—but also kind of scary for anyone who cares about true hardware freedom.
