Terrible News, Cloud Gaming is Good Now
Linus dives into why cloud gaming in 2025—powered by Nvidia’s GeForce NOW—has finally leveled up, putting titles like Indiana Jones, Borderlands 4 and Apex Legends through a series of real-world cloud vs. local performance battles. Using a killer rig (Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5080 FE, 64 GB DDR5, OLED 4K/240 Hz) he shows that latency and frame drops have all but vanished in the cloud.
Despite impressive results—smooth gameplay even in fast-paced shooters—Linus warns that just because cloud gaming works doesn’t mean it’s unambiguously great: concerns around ownership, subscription costs and ISP reliability still lurk in the background.
