Elijah finally wraps up Linus’s month-long quest to build an insane 16-player (8v8) gaming setup, complete with mini-ITX boards, DDR5 RAM, NVMe SSDs, Radeon RX 9070 XTs and fully modular PSUs. From unboxing massive server racks to installing ggRock and wrestling with networking issues at Whale LAN, the project was equal parts agony and triumph.
After sourcing chairs, monitors and every last cable, the team powered up all 16 rigs in sequence—fought off latency gremlins—and declared victory when the battlestation roared to life. It’s an over-the-top LAN dream come true (and yes, there were pain points, but the end result speaks for itself).
