They Snagged a $40K Test Chamber for Just $1,000
Linus and the LTT Labs crew couldn’t resist tossing in a laughably low bid on a surplus environmental test chamber—originally worth over $40,000—only to win it for a grand. Now they’ve got two of these beasts for stress-testing GPUs and PC parts, but naturally there’s a catch: the original manufacturer is long gone, it hasn’t seen power in over ten years, and it’s been sitting in the elements at a surplus yard.
Unloading it from the auction yard is only the start. They’ll have to figure out how to squeeze it through the lab door, assess its mystery water-cooling hardware, and pray it doesn’t immediately burst into flames when powered up. Buckle in for a hazardous DIY adventure!
