This TV Factory is the Coolest I’ve Ever Seen

Linus takes us on a tour of Hisense’s nearly 100% automated TV factory in Qingdao, China—watch robots and slick machinery handle everything from back-panel assembly and tiny RGB-MiniLED backlights to panel bonding, bezel mounting, mainboards, PSUs, speakers and wiring harnesses.

After the parts come together, it’s straight into rigorous QA testing and automated packaging before the finished TVs head off to market. You even get a peek at their R&D center, where new display tech is dreamed up. It’s a peek behind the scenes of modern TV production that’s actually pretty mesmerizing.
