Valve just dropped its Steam Machine console and a fresh Steam Controller for 2026, promising PC-grade guts in a living-room-friendly box that blurs the line between console and desktop. The new controller’s dual trackpads, adaptive triggers and haptic feedback look built to rival any DualSense or Xbox pad, while the “Puck”-sized PC chassis packs enough punch to run modern titles without turning your lounge into a sauna.
Specs are still trickling out (where’s SteamOS, anyway?), but the early price looks surprisingly reasonable given the hardware. After a hands-on tour of ports, performance and ergonomics, the verdict’s in: Valve’s gearing up to remind Sony and Microsoft that the real throne in living-room gaming might still be up for grabs.
