Reflecting on Web Sites Like Real Places.

I had been having coffee one day and browsing through one of the local forums when someone commented on how much a web site can influence your initial opinion of a business. This image had a lasting effect on me as I started to notice that I was so quick to judge locations on the internet, before I even set foot in a door. A disorganized site represents stepping into a disorganized store. A clear and smooth one is a sense that someone is enjoying a welcome since they know what to do but they do not need to correspond to it.

Some years ago, one of my friends opened a small service company in Texas. No frills or bells, simple wages and verbal recommendations. His ultimate site did not have to be flashy when he finally created a site. It only had to be like him. Easy to understand, straight forward information, no thinking mess. He later informed me that people would appear already trusting him, as though they had already had a brief conversation. This is what made me realize that it is not about fads or tricks in good site design houston tx. It has to do with making something human.

It is interesting that there are so many sites to forget about that part. They have much to say, and little to say. Too many great promises, not enough clarity. Once it feels like you are on a ground, you will know that there was somebody behind the screen who thought about you. Such care is delivered in a low profile way.

I believe websites are comparable to neighborhoods. You remember the ones that are comfortable when you see that they are confusing, cold or hard to manoeuvre. I wonder what people think of it- have you ever had the immediate feeling of trust or unease with only spending a minute on a site?
