Holiday Trading Reflections: My Wins, Misses, and Hopes

2025 felt less like a bull run, more like watching your drunk uncle play chess at New Year's - plenty of wild moves, a few surprises, but mostly just good stories by the end.

Most folks online were busy chasing the next viral coin or screaming about the market. I decided to skip the drama, keep it simple, and just do my thing. Honestly, that made the year a lot more fun - even when things didn't go perfectly.

How It Went - Mistakes, Wins, and Everything in Between

ETH was my comfort zone. Bought around $2,100, let some go at $3,000, and the rest at $3,600. Not a moonshot, but more than enough to pay the bills and smile.

INJ was my attempt to look clever. Bought at $23, felt like a genius at $36, got out at $29. Could've done better, but hey - profit is profit.

SEI turned up in the summer. Bought at $0.52, sold at $1.17. Simple, lucky, and a good reminder not to overcomplicate things.

WBT was a big surprise. Picked up under $32, added more on the dips. WhiteBIT kept making headlines: S&P index, all-time highs in the fall, U.S. launch - you name it. Sold part at $74, kept some just for fun.

TIA was my sweet spot. Got in at $7.70, bought a little more below $9, cashed out at $15 and $18 after the airdrop chaos. Sometimes you're just in the right place at the right time.

Year-end result:

  • ETH: $2,100 → $3,600 (+71%)
  • INJ: $23 → $36/$29 (avg. +40%)
  • SEI: $0.52 → $1.17 (+125%)
  • WBT: $32 → $74 (+131%)
  • TIA: $7.70 → $18 (+134%)

That's about +108% for the year. And no, it wasn't all skill - sometimes it was just not panicking when things went south in October's liquidations. Lesson learned.

A Few Words About The Best Performers Of The Year

SEI: Rolled out major performance improvements, including the Giga upgrade roadmap aimed at significantly higher throughput and lower latency, making the network more attractive for high‑frequency DeFi use cases. Native USDC support and expanding DeFi liquidity pushed on‑chain activity higher, while whales accumulated quietly during pullbacks as the ecosystem matured.

WBT: WBT stopped being "just another exchange token" and started looking like a serious bridge to institutional money. In December 2025, WhiteBIT's native coin was officially added to five S&P Dow Jones crypto indices - including the broad digital market and large‑cap benchmarks. On top of that, WhiteBIT pushed into the U.S. market later in the year, expanding regional access and depth.

TIA: Celestia saw growing demand for its data‑availability layer as more rollups and app‑chains integrated it in production environments. This growth reflects a broader modular blockchain trend. Key technical milestones around blobspace usage and modular scaling strengthened real developer adoption, turning the modular narrative into measurable on‑chain demand.

What I'll Remember

  • Patience pays off, even when it's boring.
  • It's okay to make mistakes. Seriously, it is.
  • Luck helps, but showing up every day matters more.
  • The best trades sometimes come from just staying calm and not overthinking everything.

Here's to a new year of good moves, good laughs, and maybe even better luck. Happy New Year - hope your portfolio grows, your nerves stay strong, and your stories get better every time you tell them.
