Summary
Linus and William Osman teamed up to build a hilariously over-the-top portable NAS—affectionately dubbed the A.S.S.—for William’s Open Sauce channel. They crammed an ASRock Rack mini-ITX server board, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, mega-capacity NVMe SSDs, an 18 TB HDD, SAS adapter, PoE switch and a GaN-powered PSU into a tiny chassis, then gave it a slick paint job and cable-managed the heck out of it.
Despite a few hiccups (including the “most painful drop of 2025”) and debates over a second NAS, they finished the build, hauled it off to Open Sauce HQ, and now William’s got the portable, high-capacity storage beast he always wanted.
