Linus Tech Tips (LTT): I Built a Janky Computer for William Osman!

I Built a Janky Computer for William Osman! Linus and crew threw together a portable, high-capacity NAS (nicknamed the A.S.S.) for William’s Open Sauce setup, stuffing in 15.36 TB NVMe SSDs, a tiny ASRock Rack AM5D4ID mini-ITX server board, an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D, a SAS adapter, monster HDDs and RAM sticks, all powered by a GaN PSU and managed through a UniFi Pro XG switch. Despite “most painful drop of 2025” moments, they ended up with two fully functional rigs—one for William, one backup.

Once the build was done, they hauled it over to Open Sauce, tested live, shared painting tips, and proved that with enough creativity (and a dash of jank), you can build a surprisingly capable portable storage beast.
