Linus and the team put Nvidia GeForce NOW to the test on a high-end rig (Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5080) by streaming Indiana Jones, Borderlands 4, and Apex Legends. To their surprise, cloud performance delivered solid frame rates, sharp visuals, and barely noticeable input lag—even hitting 4K/240 Hz and 1080p/480 Hz dual-mode.
That said, while cloud gaming can easily hang with most local setups, the crew notes that ultra-fast shooters and maxed-out graphics still shine brighter on your own hardware. So yes, cloud gaming has leveled up—but if you’re chasing every last frame and millisecond, your trusty PC isn’t obsolete just yet.
