The iPhone 17 Pro is exactly what you’d expect from Apple’s “Pro” line—jaw-dropping camera upgrades, tank-like durability and a ludicrously big battery—but MKBHD’s main takeaway is that this thing is a true paradox. On one hand you’ve got pro-grade photography tools (hello, ultra-zoom and new sensors), on the other you’ve got a device that feels like overkill for most folks.

Under the hood it’s blisteringly fast, thanks to Apple’s latest chip, and the build quality could survive a small apocalypse. But as always, the real question is whether any of that justifies the Pro’s premium price tag. Verdict: amazing hardware, premium price, and a beast of a phone—if you can stomach it.
